Rainhill Trials week 6 recap.

In July I will be competing at the Rainhill Trials in Manchester; one of the biggest CrossFit competitions in the UK.

Week 6 done!

This weeks training started… slowly.

Monday morning, first workout 500 calorie assault bike - done!

Then, whilst warming up for some muscle up drills, POP, my shoulder dislocated (old injury from Judo).

The majority of the rest of the week was doing prehab, running and a lot of biking.

By Saturday I was back to lifting.

W/C - 29/04/19

Hardest workout:

Row - 18 x 500m / 1 minute rest. Long rowing workouts are ok, I’m already doing around 20-30,000m a week on the rower, but usually they are at a low heart rate and purely steady state. This one was a longer ‘tough’ session, I didn’t do much after this one.

Most fun workout:

Muscle up technique - I managed two singles this week (post shoulder dislocation).

Biggest mistake :

Dislocating my shoulder. Duh!

Biggest win:

By the weekend, my shoulder was back to normal, so that’s nice.

What I’ve learned:

With rowing, the force curve is incredibly useful for re-enforcing good mechanics. Read more HERE.
