Rainhill Trials week 10 recap.
In July I will be competing at the Rainhill Trials in Manchester; one of the biggest CrossFit competitions in the UK.
Week 10 done!
This week was crammed in a little, as we were at the English Powerlifting Championships over the weekend where Tree and Rachael were competing (write up to follow).
This is a nice change of pace. Previously a lot of training has been ‘I need to get this done quickly so I can finish everything’. Now I am doing less, but trying to make sure its to the highest quality I can manage.
I also got the seeding results from the workouts done a few weeks ago. I was ranked 45/60 in the Rastrick category. For the actual day of competition, hopefully I can manage to move up a place or two.
W/C - 27/05/19
I’m struggling to answer these now, as the majority of sessions are hard, there isn’t often a session that stands out. This week I’d have to say it was the following:
5’ work, 1’ rest, changing exercise each round:
Max Burpees over bar
Max Burpees over (60cm) box
Max burpees over the rower
Max bar facing burpees
Max box jump over’s (60cm)
It was helpful that Rachael joined me for this and definitely made me push harder.
Most fun workout:
Bike - 18’ at endurance pace with a 7 second sprint at 4-8-12-16’, not letting the pace drop after each sprint.
Wall balls! - When I started doing them it took me 50 attempts to do 4 reps. One of the sessions this week was OMEM (10) x 7 reps, all unbroken.
What I’ve learned:
Do less, but do it better.
